I got this along with Cascade Complete to try in our new E-Dishwasher (uses less water). It really didn't hold up compared to Cascade as it didn't really dissolve any food and you pretty much couldn't have anything on the dishes to get a clean load on the first try. I wouldn't bother with this as it doesn't get any praise from the people I gave it away too as well with thier high water use dishwasher :).
This does not clean well at all. It left residue on my dishes and food still stuck to them...and I pre-rinse everything really well before putting in the dishwasher and I still had not so clean dishes. I would not recommend this product. My dishwasher and dishes even starting smelling stale and not so fresh after using this for about a week...it never had with any other product. Never using it again.
I found this on sale and I regret the day!!!! I noticed some white residue, to begin with, but no dishwasher is perfect. Been using this 2 weeks. 2 days ago, my sink backed up and the dishwasher had not drained all the way. I attempted to plunge the sink. My hands became covered with a thick, clear goo that would not wash off. I tried plunging, the stuff is all over the plunder. I examined the walls inside the dishwasher, it is all over. NOW, my BATHTUB downstairs is not draining and the goois backing up in there. I called a plumber. He asked to see my dishwasher detergent. He said, unfortunately, he has seen this detergent ruin several dishwashers latley and also get into plumbing throuhgout the home. He said to try an enzymatic drain cleaner. or, baking soda an vinegar in all drains and run in the dishwasher. Hacke said if it did not work, to call him back for options. Which will likley be expensive. I left an email at the colgate-palmolive site,as it is sunday and will call these crooks tomorrow. THIS SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE SHELVES!
I tried Palmolive ECO+ Lemon Splash in the process of trial and error using products to see which I like best. The results every time were horrible... a heavy white coating on all my dishes, so bad that clear glass cannot be seen through, and the dishes are well rinsed and clean in appearance when they are placed in the dishwasher. I tried running a rinse with just vinegar in the water and it didn't even cut the coating. I had to soak all the dishes in the sink in the hottest sudsy water with vinegar added and then scrub the residue off every single item with a coarse scrubber. My husband thought adding a little baking soda to soften the water would help so I tried that and had the same horrible results. The inside of the dishwasher has areas on the door where the detergent crusted and I had to chip it off carefully with a knife to get most of it off. There is still residue I can't get off even with straight vinegar. Additionally, I tested it by leaving a slight smear of peanut butter on the blade of one table knife. The smear was still there after the load finished running. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone. I don't know why it's still on the market. BTW, I had my dishwasher checked and it is working fine.
This product needs to be taken off the shelf! What a waste of money and time. Don't they test this stuff before selling to consumer? This product leaves a white gritty residue and dishes are not clean. You have to rewash everytime. I switched back to a non "eco" product and am happy again.
While searching for ways to save money on the products I regularly use, by ordering through Amazon, I came upon these reviews. I am completely surprised! I have used this detergent for 5+ years, in 3 different dishwashers, at 2 different houses, in 2 different cites (and one with well water). Have NEVER had a problem with any residues or etching or anything. Every glass is clear and sparkling & my utensils are shiny.
I've been using this for the last 7 years and never had a problem. I don't know if water hard or softness makes a difference but its always been fine for me in PA and MD. Its a shame other people had trouble but I can't fault it.

I almost never leave product reviews, but this product deserves one. It is a complete waste of money and time. DO NOT PURCHASE!!!!!!!

No problems with white residue and does the job time after time. May be some users have problems with their dishwashers
