  As another reviewer noted, this detergent left all of our dishes and utensils covered with a white residue. Perhaps it's because our water is hard. Nonetheless, we have to stop using it. Back to Palmolive. Unfortunately, not as eco-friendly (though more so than some other big-name brands), it cleans better.

  I have hard water too, for over a year I've used this powdered detergent and regular old vinegar in the rinse instead of rinse aid and my dishes/glasses come out clean. After a couple of months a cloudy residue sometimes appears on my glasses, I assume it's the hard water since it happened when I used conventional dish detergents too. So I just run my glasses with a cup of vinegar (to clean the dishwasher too) and everything comes out crystal clear.

  I buy this product in my local store where it costs the same as the regular chemical-laden products. I purchased it thinking that it wouldn't work quite as well, but I was willing to forgo Cascade's cleaning power to use a safer product. However, I am amazed with the results. It has gotten everything clean - and I'm not the type to rinse everything before putting it into my dishwasher. I do have a water softener, so I'm not sure how this works in hard water. (To be fair though, I had hard water in my last home and Cascade didn't always cut it then either.) I love this and I'm definitely not going to be going back.

  We used Walmart and other popular brands for years. Got tired of the sickening artificial scents from them. STarted using this detergent recently, and found that it leaves no residue, and of course no toxic sicky fragrance. Wow. We fill the dishwasher cup just about 1/2 full, and find that the dishes get clean enough and don't have residue. We are very pleased, and will continue to use it in the future.

  The Dishwater Powder works very well I have used three boxes now with no issues at all- and I keep a close eye out for any food left on the dishes. Amazon is selling for about the same price as my local store though, so I will probably just buy it there in the future.

  I tend to think there is sort of an art to dishwasher loading and I'm pretty exact about it. I don't have a brand-new machine but it's also not 20 years old. You have to know your machine in order to load it correctly, or some things just won't clean well period. I had some residue in tall drinking glasses for a while before I realized i was blocking the water spray on the bottom rack. Problem solved, this powder leaves glass sparkling and clean.

  I've got an older dishwasher and not matter how many times I purchased and used dishwasher cleaners or different detergents for the dishes themselves I still wasn't getting the kind of clean, spotless, no residue dishes that I was looking for. That is until I tried this product last month, not only do my dishes, glasses, and pots come out as clean and shiny as the ones from my folks fancy new dishwasher, there is no more residue AND I'm doing something a bit more decent for the environment, if I could afford to give everyone a free sample box to try I would.

  I love this detergent. I never realized other ones had bleach until I accidentally got some on my pants (thus ruining them)!!!! This was Such an amazing Deal, Thank You.

  I usually purchase this detergent from local whole foods store, where the listed price is more expensive for one pack than here. Amazon offers a really nice price, so does the delivery service!
